The Best Online Resources for Learning Web Development
Web development is a complex and constantly-evolving field, and it can be difficult to know where to start. That's why we've put together this list of the best online resources for learning web development. Whether you're a beginner who wants to get started with HTML and CSS, or an experienced developer looking for advanced tutorials and tools, we've got something for you.
W3schools
W3schools has been on the net since 1999! When I first became interested in pursuing web development, I leaned heavily on this site to help me build a strong coding foundation. It’s a go-to for definitions, syntax explanations, and examples. I think what makes W3schools so valuable is that it covers all development languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, and more!
CSS-Tricks
Chris Coyier founded CSS-Tricks in 2007 as a place to share what he’d learned about CSS. The site has since become one of the most popular resources for web development tutorials and tips. In addition to a comprehensive blog, CSS-Tricks also offers courses, podcasts, and an extensive forum where developers can ask questions and get help from experts.
DesignCourse
User Interface Design, or UI for short, is an often overlooked component of web development. Design Course is one of the best resources for learning how to create beautiful and user-friendly interfaces. Their paid course offers over 16 hours of video content, 12 challenge modules, and almost 40 interactive UI tests. The instructor, Gary Simon, also offers many free tutorials on the DesignCourse YouTube channel.

Their programs are designed for people who want to transition into a career in tech or take their skills to the next level. Flux Academy also offers a number of free resources on their website, including an Intro to Freelancing, The Beginner's Guide for Web Design, and Principals of Layout. Like DesignCourse, they also have an excellent YouTube channel with over 1,000 videos.

Stack Overflow
Stack Overflow is a question-and-answer site for developers. It’s a great place to go when you’re stuck on a problem and need help from the development community. After over 10 years in the industry, I still use this site religiously! In addition to answers, Stack Overflow also offers articles, tutorials, and resources on various topics.
CodePen
CodePen is a development environment for front-end designers and developers. It’s an online code editor that lets you write and test your code in one place. CodePen is also a great way to find inspiration for your next project. You can browse through millions of user-created pens (code snippets) and see what others are building.
Whether you're just getting started or you've been coding for years, these online resources will help you learn and improve your skills. For those looking for even more ways to refine their front-end services, read my post on '5 Ways to Improve Your Front-end Services with Webflow.'
Happy coding! :)
